We proudly hosted the grand opening ceremony of its new state-of-the-art battery recycling facility in Rotterdam. The event marked a significant milestone in the company's commitment to advancing sustainable solutions in the electric vehicle (EV) industry.

Dr. Kerstin Lichtenvort, Batteries Team Leader at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment, delivered an insightful speech on the pivotal role of EV battery recycling in advancing the European Green Deal and sustainability goals. She highlighted how initiatives like SK tes' new facility are crucial for Europe's environmental objectives.
Nico Van Dooren, Director of New Business at the Port of Rotterdam, spoke about the shared vision between the port and SK tes. He emphasized the Port of Rotterdam's support for SK tes and how the facility aligns with its mission for sustainable business practices.
Mrs. Hyejeong Ahn, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul-General from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, addressed the audience on the challenges associated with the energy transition in Europe. Her remarks provided a broader context for the importance of innovation and collaboration in overcoming these hurdles.
