Successfully Managing the Project Without Disrupting Operations

After careful consideration, INEOS Grangemouth decided to partner with SK tes, a leading IT asset disposition (ITAD) company. SK tes offered a comprehensive solution that included secure transportation, data erasure, repurposing, and environmentally responsible disposal at their own ITAD and recycling facility in Scotland. 

INEOS Grangemouth were looking for a solution for clearing a large quantity of outdated IT equipment stored across their extensive 1,700 acre site. SK tes provided that solution. SK tes was easily able to manage the project at scale, scheduling regular collections and safely handling the removal and processing of a range of enterprise IT equipment. INEOS_Graphics-03With a strong safety culture at the Grangemouth site, prior to the commencement of the six-week program of work, SK tes arranged for three team members to complete the extensive Grangemouth site induction and necessary security checks. SK tes attended the site, at regular intervals, deploying the appropriate staff, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring that work was undertaken safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. 

SK tes securely transported the equipment to their nearby Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) for environmentally responsible processing and disposal. Working with SK tes, INEOS Grangemouth was assured that their redundant IT equipment was disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner, and in compliance with regulations.

About the INEOS Grangemouth Site

The refining and petrochemical site at Grangemouth comprises three businesses:

  1. INEOS Olefins & Polymers (UK) Europe operates world-scale petrochemical plants. Its finished products of ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, and ethanol are used as the building blocks in a multitude of applications that both enable and enhance many aspects of life today, being transformed into housing and construction materials, cabling and insulation, automotive components, fibers and textiles, and food packaging as well as being extensively used in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. 
  2. The Petroineos Refinery, a joint venture of INEOS and Petrochina, in Grangemouth is Scotland's only crude oil refinery, processing 150,000 barrels of oil per day. It produces the bulk of fuels in Scotland, with markets in northern England and Northern Ireland. 
  3. The Forties Pipeline System is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system and the largest pipeline system in the UK's North Sea. The Forties Pipeline System is a critical Central North Sea transport infrastructure system, and in 2020, it transported over 30% of the UK's total oil production from the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) to the mainland.
