Meet the team... Cristina Romero
Senior Business Development Manager, Sustainable Battery Solutions Europe
Location
Madrid, Spain
What's the day-to-day of your role like?
I am responsible for the development of business with automotive OEMs, cell manufacturers, and other clients across Europe. My primary goal is to drive revenue by identifying opportunities with existing clients and actively seeking new ventures in battery recycling, reuse, and related sectors. I define the plans to implement TES's sustainable battery solutions business strategy to achieve this. Additionally, I lead the coordination of our marketing efforts in the region. This not only boosts our brand awareness across various customer segments but also highlights the unique value of TES services, positioning TES as a trusted and competitive partner in the battery recycling industry.
Why did you join TES?
I joined TES because of its business purpose, and given my years of international experience in the automotive industry, especially connectivity, I wanted to venture into new opportunities with a company that could leverage my expertise with global car OEM's. Being a part of TES allows me to work within a diverse, global team addressing a critical challenge: the rapid rise of electric vehicles and the impending challenges of automotive OEMs we will face in the near future.
Tell us an interesting fact about you.
I call myself a citizen of the world. My journey has taken me to live and work across different continents, from Europe to the Middle East, Africa, and the USA. This extensive international experience has not only shaped my personality but also deepened my love for cultural diversity. I've picked up several languages along the way, and my natural curiosity ensures that I am always ready to learn and embrace new perspectives. In essence, while many have a hometown, I have a home world. I think it's this global mosaic of experiences that makes me uniquely me.
What is your favorite film?
I am a movie lover, and while I have many favorites, I believe the "Pursuit of Happyness" is at the top of my list.
What is your favorite saying?
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. - Seneca
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I would choose to go to Bhutan, the country that holds happiness as its national metric. It's a destination where I believe an authentic dive into their culture and heritage is still possible.
What do you like to do to unwind?
I am a big fan of art, especially painting. I enjoy visiting museums and art galleries to spark my creativity. Painting is my way of unplugging and clearing my head. It's the best way for me to relax and do what I love.
What's the most unique aspect of working in TES?
TES is a key player in this evolving sector of battery recycling. It's a company that is shaping the industry by not only repurposing batteries but also pioneering standards and new methods of battery recycling.
What does it mean to you to work for an organization that is sustaining tomorrow?
It's an opportunity to be part of something bigger than just business. It's about being proactive and thinking about the long-term impact of our actions. It's essentially a commitment and a privilege to be part of positive change.
