Under the agreement, SK Tes will provide services to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of electric vehicle operations. This includes battery life cycle assessments for optimal performance and longevity. SK Tes will also implement protocols for safe handling and recycling of end-of-life EV batteries, minimizing environmental impact and promoting resource recovery.
A key part of this collaboration is integrating SK Tes' 2nd Life Energy Storage System (ESS) technology into Strides Mobility’s charging stations, enhancing infrastructure capacity and reliability for a more sustainable e-mobility ecosystem.
Strides Mobility, which operates a large fleet of EV taxis and provides electric Mobility-as-a-Service (eMaaS) to corporate fleet owners, will work with SK Tes to develop infrastructure supporting the reverse supply chain and future innovations in sustainable e-mobility.
"This is a great day for all Singaporeans who care about e-mobility," said Terence Ng, Executive Chairman of SK Tes. "It is our privilege to work closely with Strides Mobility as it takes significant steps to provide a clean EV fleet for all Singaporeans."
Ng emphasized that this partnership aligns with SK Tes’ investment in end-of-life battery services, which are gaining global recognition (SK Tes Battery Recycling).
He also highlighted SK Tes' commitment to deploying ESS technology and contributing to the regional and global expansion of EV charging infrastructure.
“Singapore has long distinguished itself as both a global transportation and logistics hub and a leader in sustainability,” Ng added. “This agreement with Strides Mobility will further enhance Singapore’s status in these areas.”
