SK Tes has had a facility in Scotland since 2005, but has outgrown its original 11,500-square-foot premises and moved to a new facility that is more than four times the size of its predecessor.
The new facility will deliver improved security and efficiency through the installation of an enterprise physical security system and improved production areas replicated from proven deployments across SK Tes’s global infrastructure.
The site in Irvine already hosts several certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Approved Authorized Treatment Facility (AATF), Approved Exporter (AE), Approved Battery Treatment Operator (ABTO), and Approved Battery Exporter (ABE).
SK Tes was recently cited as the largest ITAD vendor by Gartner, and this is another example of SK Tes’s continued growth, adding more and larger facilities to an already unrivaled offering.
Gordon Cripps, General Manager of SK Tes Scotland, added, “The growth we have seen in Scotland over the last few years has been phenomenal. This move to a larger facility positions us well for the future and will allow us to continue to service our clients with excellence as that growth continues.”
For many years, the effect of information communications technology (ICT) on the environment has gone relatively unnoticed, but now this effect is gaining attention, and more sustainable outcomes are urgently needed.
If unchecked, 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHGE) could be attributable to ICT by 2040, which would exceed the current contribution of the entire transportation sector.
As an organization, SK Tes is collectively reimagining the technology lifecycle through its “Sustaining Tomorrow” strategy and tackling the growing issue of e-waste. This progress reflects a dedication to leveraging the circular economy on behalf of its customers.
At SK Tes, we are determined to align our actions with our vision, mission, and purpose. We aim to be a global leader in sustainability.
Our mission is to make a decade of difference by securely, safely, and sustainably transforming and repurposing one billion kilograms of assets by 2030.
To us, it’s about protecting, providing, and preserving. This is our way of taking care of people, the planet, and profit.
