SK Tes's Microsoft award recognizes 100% year-over-year growth in MAR citizenship license sales

20th October 2021 – The award recognizes SK Tes as a MAR partner with positive year-on-year growth in MAR licenses, specifically in the citizenship segment. SK Tes’s programs have supported philanthropy, charitable organizations, educational institutions, and enterprises’ CSR programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, SK Tes won Microsoft’s Innovation Award. This latest recognition follows 100% year-over-year growth in MAR citizenship license sales, achieved through the following:

  • Partnered with a third-party refurbisher (TPR) to lease and rent refurbished devices during COVID-19 for a vaccination center in Malaysia.
  • Ongoing citizenship license support:
    • PC donations for underprivileged students in Malaysia: Over 18,000 citizenship licenses distributed through a TPR to support approximately 150,000 students.
    • Engineering Good in Singapore: Refurbished laptops are donated to families in need. As of May 2021, more than 4,000 laptops were distributed, with 150–200 fulfilled monthly.
    • Crossroads Foundation in Hong Kong: Received over 3,000 licenses to refurbish and distribute 100–200 PCs monthly to those in need.
    • LiteHaus International in Australia: Kickstarted with 130 laptops donated to schools in Queensland. Goal: reach 500,000 students across Australia and Papua New Guinea by 2030.
  • Expanded citizenship license initiatives to the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, and Taiwan.
  • Supported Microsoft PC donation projects in India and Malaysia.
Jim Meadowcroft, Group Director of Value Recovery/Remarketing:

“SK Tes is once again delighted to be recognized as a key Microsoft MAR partner. We have a long-term commitment to the MAR program as a core part of our strategy to deliver quality digital devices to those in our communities who need support to bridge the digital divide.”

Kennedy Goh, Local Devices Lead, Microsoft SEA:
“Kudos and congrats to SK Tes, not only for the sustainability and refurbishment work, but for engaging in citizenship projects worldwide! A valuable contribution to society while bringing the benefits of genuine Windows and Office to those in need.”

The MAR program ensures that customers receive professionally refurbished devices with genuine Microsoft Windows—free from defects, malware, or privacy risks.

This supports SK Tes’s commitment to securely, safely, and sustainably transform and re-purpose 1 billion kgs of assets by 2030.
